Believe it or not, good
and well
are not interchangeable. Good
should only be used as an adjective, and well
should only be used as an adverb.
It
would be incorrect to write that someone plays the piano
good
or that someone did good
on a test. That's because
it takes an adverb to describe HOW
someone plays the piano or scores on a test, and
good
is not the adverb choice.
Playing
the
piano well
and doing well
on a test--those are the right choices for
writers!

If you've ever felt good
about something, that's good!
Feeling good means
you're in good spirits; feeling well
means you're in good health!
